Cifra Analytics entered one of the most crowded categories on the Shopify App Store. Between June and October 2026, Big Moves Marketing helped the team sharpen the product, rebuild the messaging and win page-one visibility next to apps with hundreds of times more reviews. The merchant base grew from about 14 to 81.
The challenge
Analytics ranks among the most contested corners of the Shopify App Store. A search for “analytics” returns 8,849 apps. “Reports” returns 6,476 and “dashboard” returns 5,338. The first row of results belongs to established players such as BR – Better Reports with 1,200 reviews, Report Pundit with 2,069, and well-funded brands such as Triple Whale, Peel and Sellerboard.
Cifra also competes with a free default. Shopify’s built-in analytics gives early-stage stores a reasonable view of sales and traffic, so a merchant needs a concrete reason to install anything at all.
When the engagement began in June 2026, Cifra already had installs flowing from Shopify Search Ads and the App Store. A full product review then surfaced a bigger opportunity: the onboarding, first-run experience and interface needed work before Cifra could stand apart and deliver value fast enough to convert installs into active users.
The engagement
The work ran in two phases. The team chose to invest in the product first and scale acquisition second, so every new merchant would land in an experience worth staying for.
An onboarding and product audit across seven friction points, a 21-page competitive review of Lifetimely, Mipler, Cartlytics, GoProfit and RealTime Stack, and a 12-item prioritized action plan.
Cifra’s team reworked onboarding, the dashboard first-run experience and the interface. Big Moves reviewed the reworked flow and advised on activation.

Product and positioning
The core strategic decision was to place Cifra in the space between two alternatives. Merchants outgrowing Shopify’s native reports want profit, ad spend and customer value in one place. Merchants evaluating large analytics suites want those answers without a pixel to install, an onboarding call or a data team. Cifra was shaped to serve both.
| What merchants compare | Shopify built-in analytics | Cifra Analytics | Large analytics suites |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core question answered | What did I sell? | What did my store actually make, after costs and ad spend? | Which touchpoint gets attribution credit? |
| Data sources | Shopify store data | Shopify, Google Ads, Meta Ads, GA4, Klaviyo, spreadsheets and Slack, with more shipping monthly | Broad, often with a proprietary pixel |
| Setup | Built in | One-click install, real numbers the same afternoon, no pixel | Pixel install, onboarding call, weeks to full value |
| AI and expert insight | Limited | Ask Cifra in plain English, plus an MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor on every plan | Often reserved for higher tiers |
| Pricing | Included | Free plan, then $29 to $149 a month, priced by orders with capped overages | Triple Whale starts at $219 a month, priced by GMV |
The product work that followed delivered on that position. The dashboard now opens on net profit, contribution margin, blended ROAS and customer acquisition cost, each tagged with the sources behind it. The data refreshes every 15 minutes. A Metric Tree traces any number back to what drives it.
Messaging and website
Big Moves delivered a positioning and messaging framework built around one question every merchant asks: what did my store actually make? That question now anchors the homepage, the calls to action and every comparison page.
“See what your store actually made.” One line carries the product, the promise and the difference from attribution-first competitors.
The framework set three supporting pillars, each backed by proof on the site:
Big Moves directed the website architecture, page briefs, content and SEO and AI search strategy, and reviewed the pages as they shipped. Cifra’s team designed and built it. The result is a site organized around how merchants evaluate analytics tools:
Shopify App Store growth
App Store optimization and Shopify Search Ads formed the central pillar of the engagement. The listing was rebuilt around the highest-volume, highest-relevance terms in the category: reports, analytics, dashboards and AI reporting. The app name, “Cifra Analytics & Reports”, and the subtitle, “Smart Analytics and Customer Insights on LTV, Retention, ROAS”, now carry those terms directly.
Paid and organic were run as one system. Search Ads bought immediate first-row visibility on the terms that matter, generated installs and reviews, and those signals lifted organic rankings on the same keywords.
| Keyword | Competing apps | Search Ads | Organic |
|---|---|---|---|
| analytics | 8,849 | Row 1 | Growing |
| ai reports | 6,742 | Row 1, position 1 | Page 1 |
| reports | 6,476 | Row 1 | Page 1 |
| dashboard | 5,338 | Row 1 | Growing |
An independent Shopify App Store tracker has followed Cifra across 409 keywords since July 30, 2026, and its record shows the organic side of the story. In the Analytics category, Cifra climbed from around #355 in early September to #92 on October 29, gaining 45 places in the last 30 days alone. Its average position across tracked keywords improved by 1.9 places over the same period, to 35.7.
The tracker logs every title tag, tag, screenshot and pricing change against the rank line, with its 14-day effect. That turned listing optimization into a measured loop rather than guesswork.
The paid program tested discovery, competitor, category and branded campaigns, then concentrated spend on the two that performed best. Year to date, Shopify Search Ads delivered a 15.7% install rate from clicks. The branded campaign converts at $5.25 per install, a sign that awareness built elsewhere now shows up as direct demand on the App Store.
Activation and lifecycle
Installs only count if merchants reach value. Big Moves advised Cifra’s founder across the full journey from install to paid plan:
Trust and reach
Big Moves planned when and how Cifra asks for reviews, timed to the moments merchants feel the product working. Every review on the listing is five stars, and merchants describe exactly the benefit the positioning promises: one place for sales, profit and ad performance, without switching between dashboards.
A playbook for Shopify Community forums, Reddit and high-activity Facebook groups, including Spanish-language communities. Cifra engages under a brand-named profile, leads with useful answers rather than promotion and commits to consistent participation over months.
A partner strategy across four categories: complementary Shopify apps, technology partners, agencies that manage multiple stores, and co-marketing partners.
Education-first collaborations with podcast hosts, newsletter writers and YouTube creators whose audiences run high-GMV stores, with Cifra building the content.
Ongoing expert counsel to Cifra’s founder on priorities across product, analytics, website, content and channels, with Cifra’s team executing.
Results
Cifra’s merchant base grew 479% between June 1 and October 29, 2026, from about 14 merchants to 81, according to Shopify Partner analytics. The curve steepened once the reworked product met the App Store program: merchants grew 208% in the last 90 days, and October delivered the sharpest climb of the year.
In the six days from October 24 to October 29 alone, Cifra recorded 20 new installs, several of them within minutes of each other. That steady flow comes from merchants who find Cifra on page one for the searches they already run.
